Grant Achatz, one of the most renowned molecular gastro-chefs in the world, is preparing to open his new restaurant, Next.  If you don’t know Achatz’s current restaurant Alinea (in Chicago), know that it’s considered one of the top restaurants on Earth, period.

One of the biggest is knocks against the Kindle (and e-readers period) is that you can’t loan/borrow books like you can with, well…books.  Lendle aims to change all that.

Are you a basketball person?  If so, you might like Joe Lucas’ new site, The World of Hoops, which focuses its content on skill and strength development for basketball athletes.

Here’s a trailer for the upcoming video game Dead Island.  It’s brutal and haunting (so not safe for work), but better than 99% of the trailers Hollywood turns out.  Again, this is for a video game, folks.

A sequence of lines traced by 500 individuals.  Each user sees only the last line drawn and has to replicate that line to the best of their ability.  Very quickly, this turns into a study on iteration and how imperfections enter a seemingly-simple body of work.  It is, in fact, a pretty decent visualization of evolutionary theory, as David mentions.
