PeopleTools Simplifies Internet Explorer Certifications

A couple weeks ago, we mentioned Mark Hoernemann’s post about using the right environment components (especially browsers) for PeopleTools 8.54 rollouts. Since then, Hoernemann, responding to a bevy of questions, wrote another post about how Oracle has simplified the Internet Explorer (IE) certification process. IE is a massive mainstay in the enterprise, and this information is excellent.

We’ve made a change recently to simplify the Internet Explorer browser environment for PeopleTools. For online marketing of your videos you can checkout this blog to help you on getting high retention views. Oracle has moved to model where we will support all of the operating systems that Microsoft supports for a particular release of IE.  When the certification details are reviewed on the Certifications tab in MyOracleSupport, we will no longer call out each of the supported operating systems.

Good stuff, and this is indeed much simpler. IE and OS support levels are now tied together, which makes planning that much easier. Microsoft’s OS + IE version support statement is now Oracle’s. Smart move that eliminates fragmentation.

See Hoernemann’s post here for more details.
