PeopleSoft RECONNECT 2013 Highlights; Top Keynote Takeaways

Last week, our team headed to the Windy City for PeopleSoft RECONNECT, hosted by Quest.  RECONNECT, the only PeopleSoft-specific event in North America, is a must-attend conference according to Tim Schinke, our Director of the North Central Region.  More than 300 PeopleSoft users from a wide range of industries came together under one roof to collaborate, share ideas and discuss the future of the product.

It’s no surprise that the hot topic of the show was PeopleSoft 9.2, and many of the attendees were seeing it for the first time.  RECONNECT presented the exclusive opportunity to interact directly with PeopleSoft developers, who provided an in-depth view of the new features.  The overwhelming feedback from attendees was that they were very impressed by the functionality enhancements, as well as the lower cost of ownership.

According to our own Shannon Roche and Steven Brenner, both presenters at the event, the keynote presentation from John Webb, VP of PeopleSoft Product Strategy with Oracle, was a great kickoff to the show, highlighting timely, relevant information about the new functionality with a particular focus on the upgrade flexibility.  What did John say 9.2 could do for you?  He boiled it down to three main benefits:

  1. Intuitively execute business processes
  2. Effectively perform role-based tasks
  3. Simplify use with global intelligence search

Steven added that Amira Morcos, Senior Director of Product Strategy for Oracle, did a great job leading interactive, informative breakout sessions that displayed PeopleSoft 9.2 functionality.  Steven’s session, titled “Lease Management Enhanced through PeopleSoft Real Estate Management,” was well attended by a participatory audience comprised of users from the energy, financial, government and hospitality industries. Shannon also helped facilitate the first official meeting of the newly formed PeopleSoft ALM Special Interest Group (SIG), along with several representatives from East Kentucky Power Cooperative, an ALM customer.

RECONNECT 2013 showed continued interest in the enhancements available through PeopleSoft 9.2—exciting developments for Oracle, Quest, PeopleSoft users and MIPRO alike.  If you’re interested in learning more about PeopleSoft 9.2 and our experience with the product, visit our website, or give us a shout.
