Linkology: The Best of the Internet for 1/29/10

Of course, life just wouldn’t make sense if I didn’t include a bevy of iPad links:

  • Stephen Fry’s excellent iPad About.  He gets the iPad’s weight in the future of computing.
  • Stephen Fry again, this time on his personal blog, with one of the smartest essays about the iPad I’ve seen anywhere.  This is top-grade stuff.  Do me a favor and really read it.
  • Here’s the official page on which you can watch the iPad demo video as well as Steve Jobs’s keynote of the iPad unveiling.
  • If you’re a GUI nerd like I am, then you’ll love this four-minute video of advanced touchscreen interactions on the iPad, demoed via the new  iWork.  There are annotations to accompany this, too, for easier reference.
  • Still peeved about the lack of Flash on the iPad?  Here’s some history and reasoning for you to help understand Apple’s stance on proprietary web technologies.
  • Want more stream-of-consciousness impressions of Apple’s latest?  Here’s the running Twitter stream.

OK.  Those out of the way, here is some other required reading/viewing (as curated by yours truly) on this week’s web:

How to report the news.  Funny video, and the funny comes from its truth.

The most amazing cinematic car crash ever. This gets a bit gruesome, so view at your own risk.

The OCD snow removal method. Wow.

Actual football played in a 60-min NFL game? 11 minutes.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
