Last month I started my 8th year at MIPRO. The first 7 were fantastic, and I’m excited about year 8 and beyond. When I was hired, I really didn’t know much about MIPRO, and they didn’t know much about me. However, we took a chance on each other, and I’m glad we did. MIPRO really is a special place, and I wanted to share why from my perspective.
A lot has happened, and changed, during those 7 years. The economy has gone up and down, Covid (enough said about that), and changes in the ERP and overall technology market. However, some things have not changed, and that is why I describe my time here as fantastic and why I’m excited about the future. Let me highlight a few things that may help explain why I feel this way.
Support – From day 1, I felt like the whole company was supporting me – the managing partners, HR, finance, our consultants – they all made me feel like their goal was to help me be successful and stand behind me to make it happen. This meant anyone, and everyone, was willing to jump on a call, join me for a meeting, help explain our contracts, or walk me through our internal processes. Whenever I needed help, it was available. Not only did I feel supported, I felt liked. Our team isn’t only helpful, they’re nice people to work with. We can have fun with each other even during busy or stressful times.
Doing The Right Thing – MIPRO has a philosophy of doing the right thing. Many companies can say this, but I’ve seen it demonstrated countless times and applied to many situations. Early in my time here, I made a small mistake on a contract and had to have a difficult conversation with my customer. Our executive team simply told me to talk with the customer, make the right decision, and they would support my decision, and they did. These types of situations occasionally happen with complicated projects and each time it has, we’ve worked with the customer to come to a fair resolution that didn’t involve nit-picking the contract language or talking to lawyers. We simply talked with the customer, decided what was fair, and delivered on our decision. The funny thing is, most customers like doing business like that and will continue to do business with you for that reason.

Quality People – This is the (not so) secret sauce. I touched on the MIPRO team being supportive and friendly, which they are. Equally important is that we have an outstanding team. Our executives, managers, administration, and consultants are experienced, dedicated, hardworking and ultimately focused on delivering quality services to our customers. Our executives and managers are engaged with customers and know what is happening with our projects.
Our internal teams learn any unique requirements our customers have, adhere to them, and make themselves directly available to our customers if needed. Our consultants, who have the biggest impact on our customers, are experienced, conscientious, and focused on making our customers successful.
The people and philosophies combine to create the culture we have at MIPRO. I have been fortunate to have worked in this environment and with these outstanding people for the past 7 years and, hopefully, for several more to come. I have worked for several companies throughout my career, and there are only a couple others that come close to MIPRO. The difference is MIPRO’s culture has stayed consistent throughout the ups and downs, challenges and changes and, in my opinion, is why MIPRO continues to thrive in an ever-changing market, and why my decision to join MIPRO was one of the best professional decisions I’ve made.
If you made it to this point, thank you for letting me reflect on my time at MIPRO. If you’re a coworker, customer, consultant, or partner that I’ve worked with during my time here, thank you for helping to make this journey so exciting and rewarding.
