Our just-wrapped-up blog series about PeopleSoft Strategic Sourcing focused on the 9.1 release, and all of the content, features and videos are based upon 9.1 functionality. In the middle of our blog series 9.2 was released, adding new features and functionality. Taken from the cumulative feature overview, here is a list of the new features in Strategic Sourcing 9.2. I thought this might be a good addendum to what we presented in our Strategic Sourcing blogs.
New features in 9.2 Strategic Sourcing:
-
The Supplier Administration Center and Registration Dashboard consolidate and centralize access to relevant data based on user roles and permissions. For example, an administrator can review pending supplier, bidder, and user account registration requests and alerts that require action. The FSCM 9.2 WorkCenters will deliver four standard pagelets – My Work, My Links, Queries, and Reports and Processes.
-
Split Bid Analysis introduces the ability to group bid factors separately to support the segregation of duties within an organization and can be enabled during Event Collaboration and Analysis Collaboration. For example, organizations may want one bid factor group to contain item information that business users can review and another financial users bid factor group that can review price, supplier’s credit score, and shipping costs. Segregation of duties with the configurable bid factor groups prevents technical users from having access to financial data and vice versa, and it ensures that technical components are evaluated before cost components. Routing to collaborators can be either parallel or sequential.
-
Strategic Sourcing carries the configurable profile question responses from the bidder profile onto the supplier master at time of award, when a supplier is converted from a bidder. Profile responses can be modified as needed.
-
Offers a new Bidder to Supplier Conversion tool that can automatically create a supplier master record based on a selected bidder. This new page gives buyers the advantage of leveraging existing bidders in the system without manually keying in the new supplier; and the system also automatically tracks that the bidder is now a supplier in the system.
-
Offers collaborator comments during analysis for the header and line bid factors, to be viewable by the event owner. The addition of collaborator comments provides the added benefit of capturing information that may be useful for the individuals who are determining the final award allocation.
-
Online Supplier Registration provides self-service registration for new suppliers and new bidders. This online process features a horizontal, step-by-step navigation and can be configured to be accessible on your organization’s public website for unsolicited requests, or it can be configured for access by email invitation only. The registration information and pages that you expose to the selected audience are configurable with the ability to route the registration requests through an approval process.
-
Provides automation for new user account requests. The Employee Self-Service Supplier Registration has a similar user experience as the new supplier and new bidder registration pages and is configurable to capture the same type of information. Instead of someone in the organization calling the Supplier Management department or sending an email requesting a new user account, an employee is able to enter a request directly in the system and have the request routed through the Approval Workflow Engine and upon approval, automatically create the supplier record.
-
The Manage Invitations page helps you send registration invitations and other email notices to selected Supplier and Bidder contacts. You are able to select from an assortment of user-defined and -delivered email templates. Invitations can be associated directly with a registration template so email content will automatically contain all of the information solicited suppliers need to access the registration pages.
-
In PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2, you can manage Online Supplier Registration approvals and invitations through the Supplier Administration Center or the Suppliers component. Once Suppliers or Employees submit their new registration requests, the system submits the request for review and approval using the Approval Workflow Engine. The Manage Invitations page helps you send registration invitations and other email notices to selected Supplier and Bidder contacts. Invitations can be associated directly with a registration template so email content will automatically contain all of the information solicited suppliers need to access the online registration pages.
Again, I hope you found our information on PeopleSoft Strategic Sourcing helpful. It’s a specialized topic, but if you need PeopleSoft Strategic Sourcing, we aim to have provided the most complete information source this side of PeopleBooks.
