As many are aware, the PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface (FUI) is really modernizing the look and feel of PeopleSoft applications making them very mobile friendly. Adopting the FUI for newly delivered content is an easy decision process. But what about deciding when to move to the new FUI for previously existing content developed on the Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) such as Mobile Inventory?
Oracle posted a blog in January titled PeopleSoft Mobile Inventory and New PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface that describes the future release of FUI for Mobile Inventory. It’s a very interesting read, not only for those who are considering implementing Mobile Inventory, but also for any PeopleSoft customer currently using Mobile Inventory who is thinking about updating to the FUI. One fact that I found interesting is that both the current ADF Mobile Inventory and FUI Mobile Inventory will be available and supported. Oracle’s blog shows a screenshot of the proposed FUI compared to the current ADF, highlighting the different look and feel of both versions. Also provided is a very helpful proposed operating system matrix which indicates what platforms each will support.
