Linkology: The Best of the Internet for 8/20/2010

Before the links, a question.

How many of you out there have switched from an iPhone to an Android-based phone?  I am considering this move, as my iPhone 4 – now on its second unit – isn’t a reliable  phone.  And I can’t even blame AT&T entirely: my old 3GS had none of the problems both of my iPhone 4s are exhibiting.

If you have had to move away from the iPhone to Android, I’d like to hear your experience in the comments.  Thanks.

So, moving on.

The Internet press pumped out some pretty good reading this week, so you have ample weekend coffee material.  Check it out:

Haitian President Rene Preval explains how the quake shook him to his core.

Modern superheros, who exhibit very little vulnerability, are poor role models for today’s boys.

Jailbake: Rikers Island carrot cake is famous with both residents and employees.  Here is the recipe.

Did Alcoholics Anonymous “dumb down” the Serenity Prayer?  Yale Alumni magazine investigates.

Ewww: the surprising moral force of disgust.

Flash fail: Laptop Magazine’s Avram Piltch tests the newest mobile Flash player for Android and decides, for now, that Steve Jobs is right.

Finally, a genuinely hilarious exchange between a busy graphic designer and an impromptu client who expected immediate help.  It starts funny and gets better as it goes on.

Have a good weekend, everyone.
