Earlier this week, we launched MiPro Gives Back. It’s a charity project in which we are asking our customers, partners, colleagues and the general web community to help us decide where the money goes.
Nominations are open now, and it works quite simply: go here (or click the tree logo to the right), click on the MiPro Gives Back banner on the right-hand side of the page, and enter your nomination (and please explain why you think your charity should make it as a finalist).
On March 18, the nomination period closes. At that point, the charities getting the most community attention will be moved into a group of finalists, and we will open the finalists to voting. Voting will continue for two weeks. At the end of the voting period, we will choose the winning charity (or charities) that receive some or all of our $10K donation.
We’re doing this because we were extremely fortunate to work with a brilliant set of clients and partners in 2008. But, like you, we read the headlines and know it’s not easy out there today. Circumstances are difficult for everyone, but that doesn’t mean that larger needs take a backseat to the immediate problems we’re all facing.
So, as a management team, we decided to put some money into helping those who are dedicated to helping others. It’s our way of giving back to the community for all of the grace and favor it has shown us as a company.
And it’s really as simple as that.
So far, the response has been phenomenal – it’s amazing how many of you have mobilized via Twitter and blogs to get your cause nominated many times over. And that matters – the more nominations a charity gets, the stronger its chances of making it to the finalists.
Speaking of Twitter, we are posting quite a few updates in the Twitterverse, so if that’s your preferred way of consuming information, you can click the button below to follow us on Twitter and catch our updates.
Thanks a ton for your time and participation. It truly is humbling.
